Make ‘em Smile
What if the only thing they have to worry about is getting BETTER!

Studies have shown specialty doctors and hospital staff providing critical care for loved ones understand all too well the crisis their patients and families face. Unfortunately, the terminal illness rate is on the rise across the nation; leaving our hospitals over budgeted and understaffed.

COVID-19 has shined a light upon the tremendous load hospital staff across the nation face daily. The pandemic has enlightened us, and the general public, to the crisis our “Specialty Medical Heroes” are facing. MDI’s Founder, Lynette Meyers, recalls a moment meeting a young social worker at a children’s hospital, whose pediatric cancer rate was increasing at a higher rate than average.

Her hair was frayed, and speaking in an exhausted voice, she looked up and said, “I just come to work to help who I can, and pray I make it through the day.”

Without help, we will lose our valued care providers to “career burnout”

MDI’s Make 'em Smile App facilitate communication between families coping with Pediatric Terminal Illness (PTI), the hospitals that care for them, and their local community resources that provide direct services to them. MDI’s unique network provides hospital staff direct connection with Community Heroes who have decided to stand up and say… “I SUPPORT MY COMMUNITY” These are everyday people willing to put their “Boots on the Ground” to provide DIRECT services to their local families in need. Our App is able to optimize the hospital case worker’s ability to preform more efficient, and take their profession
to the next level.

We have streamlined the process to better assist hospital staff in gathering resources within communities just by a push of a button. Explore the Community Hero Businesses and learn how to receive 100% tax deduction while building a better community.

For the families that neither have time nor the money due to their unfortunate circumstances, this is a game changer… It’s just what they need to heal.

Animal Wellness

Veterinary Care, Grooming, & Pet Products

Family pets are usually revered as another family member, but once a
child’s immune system is compromised pets become a serious issue.
Casting the pet outside or finding them a new home, may produce more
anxiety for the family. Finding a solution to keep the beloved family pet
safely at home is our mission. Licensed Veterinarians, Groomers, and
providers of Pet Products have the ability to provide services to their local
pediatric family pets.

Education

Providing School Supplies, Media Devices, & School Clothing

School is where most children find their identity. Not being able to have
clothing or the supplies as other children, may cause a deep sense of not
belonging. Local communities have the ability to donate clothing and
school supplies to their local children and their siblings

Automotive

Maintenance/Repair, Auto Parts, Car Detailing, Vehicle Replacement

Reliable transportation throughout treatment is a major concern for
families. It is of the utmost importance to be able to transport a child to
and from the hospital and doctors appointments. Local communities have
the ability to assist with the maintenance or replacement of their local
family’s vehicle.

Licensed Daycare Providers

MDI believes it takes a village to raise a child, and is our mission to
provide the extra needed care and love families need at the time. Through
our MeS Childcare Service, nationwide providers attain the ability to
extend the village of licensed and bonded care services to your local
pediatric cancer child and siblings.

It is our mission to assure families the ability to remain in the home after
diagnosis. If a family’s home is not conducive to the child becoming amniosuppressed, the child must leave, often resulting in the family living at the
Ronald McDonald House throughout treatment. Our program provides the
building community the opportunity to keep their local families safely at
home.
